Dana Montlack is a fine art photographer based in La Jolla, California.
Dana focuses on observing the microcosms in her world and herself which are revealed enigmatically through the layers of her work.
Dana is drawn by her senses, combined with her need to understand things or see beyond the surface. She has been working on hybridizing animate objects which she narrows, distorts, and magnifies. She delays time and view from the microscope’s edge. While revealing, her art is yet veiled.
Dana received her B.F.A. in sculpture from the University of California Santa Cruz. She received her M.F.A. from Otis Parsons School of Art. Since 1987, Montlack has been a teacher and a working artist. Her work has been exhibited in museums and galleries nationwide.
